Honor Your Mom Today with These 9 Simple Gestures

When a bride puts on her gown and looks at herself in the mirror, it’s a very overwhelming moment, not only for her, but also for her mother. The reality of letting go leaves tears–sometimes silent, invisible ones–and tugs at deep emotions. But while it’s time to leave, and time be apart, there are still many ways in which you can honor your mother and make her feel your genuine love, care, and appreciation for all the years under her care. Here are nine things you can do now and continue doing through the many hereon.

(1) Express your gratitude.

Say, “Thank You” for everything she has done for you–from giving birth to you, nursing you, bringing you to and from school, to helping you plan your wedding and getting you dressed on your Big Day! From all the small things, to the very big momentous accomplishments, express your most sincere thanks for her unwavering support all the way.

(2) Apologize and resolve past hurts.

It’s high time to let go of personal issues, pain, or resentment that you may have been harbouring over the years. Say sorry, ask forgiveness, and extend forgiveness as well for hurts that may even still sting today. Make that extra effort to mend the cracks and bumps in your relationship.

(3) Tell her you love her.

There’s no better way to express love than to say it–simple and straightforward.

This Breathtaking Bali Wedding Has Some Unique Details That You Will Love

What a beautiful wedding this truly is! From the breathtaking views of Pandawa Cliff Estate, to the impeccable styling by Ailuosi Decor, I love everything about it. The feminine florals, overhanging greens with the lightbulbs mixed in–such a cute idea! I can rave about this wedding on and on, so before I let you in the photos, allow me to talk about the other unique details that I loved, namely the lighted C and D block letters displaying themselves in the garden setting, and the “groom” and “bride” labels hanging behind the couple’s chairs. Plus, I am swooning at how the delicate gowns by 1.618 Couture & Bridal and Pronovias match the ethereality of it all! This was indeed an elegant and tasteful occasion with just the right amount of playfulness. Grab some ideas from Celia and David’s big day and add in fun elements to your own wedding, to give it a sense of freshness! Jada Poon has some very lovely shots to share with us, so go on, and keep scrolling!

Types of Marriages Recognized by Hong Kong Law

If you’re planning to get married, whether it be in Hong Kong or abroad, of course, you will want to check what types of marriages are recognized by Hong Kong law. A marriage that is not valid in your home country is no marriage at all! As a rule of thumb, all marriages in Hong Kong, from the 7th of October, 1971 onwards, are governed by the Marriage Ordinance which specifies the below kinds of marriages as legal and valid.

(1) Registered Marriage

The first kind or marriage that is recognized by Hong Kong law is the Registered Marriage. In accordance with the Marriage Ordinance, a Registered Marriage is defined as voluntary union for life of one man with one woman to the exclusion of all others in a marriage ceremony carried out at one of the Marriage Registries or licensed places of worship in Hong Kong. If your wedding is set to take place in a marriage hall, registry, or official licensed place of worship, it falls under this category.
