Wedding Details Your Guests Do and Don’t Care About

The truth is, some wedding details will make the celebration extra memorable to your family and friends. These are the crucial inclusions that they will remember and will keep looking back on when your wedding day comes into mind. On the other hand, there are other wedding details that are not that relevant to wedding guests. It’s not that these details don’t matter–because all the elements that come into play help bring your dream day to life. But when planning a wedding, it’s very common for couples to get extremely stressed about all the details. One way you can feel less overwhelmed is by 1) focusing on wedding details that really matter to you, 2) not sweating the small stuff, especially if they’re not that important to your guests. It’s not that your guests don’t care, period. Guests care about you and what matters to you, but some other wedding details are really of less importance to them. Find out what guests do and don’t care about so you can free yourself from unnecessary extra wedding planning stress.

What Guests Do Care About

(1) The Food

People love food and good food makes people happy! If you serve guests a sensational menu, rest assured that they will have only good memories of your wedding day. Your wedding menu is something you can and probably should spend extra time on. You can also take it further by asking for guests’ food intolerances and allergies and incorporate these when planning the menu. They will truly appreciate the extra effort.

(2) The Drinks

When it comes to alcohol, the right buzz will allow wedding guests to let loose and relax. So yes, guests do care about the drinks because it helps set the mood for the festivities, especially the after party! Apart from alcohol, other non-alcoholic refreshments are also memorable wedding details, especially when these match the wedding theme or location. For instance, tropical coolers are great for beach weddings.

(3) Entertainment and Activities

Since a wedding is a day-long event, guest do appreciate it if you keep them entertained throughout the day. During cocktails, you can prepare some activities for them, like a photobooth or lawn games for an outdoor wedding. Likewise, the banquet program is another opportunity to heighten spirits. You may seek out an experienced host and a groovy band for the rest of the night.

A Captivating Koh Samui Wedding That Was Postponed for 3 Years

Iris and Tim initially planned to wed on the 22nd of February, 2020, which was an auspicious date in Chinese culture because of the many  number 2s. We all know what happened in 2020–the COVID-19 pandemic. So like many other 2020 soon-to-weds, Iris and Tim postponed their wedding for a later date. At long last, that most awaited day came and they made their way down the aisle in a captivating union held at Samujana, Koh Samui. The couple that met in law school and got engaged in a diving trip in Okinawa shared that planning a wedding in a tropical destination means paying more attention to the details to ensure everyone has a good time. For example, guests may not be accustomed to the local food, weather, transportation, and even insects. Thailand was hot and since the wedding was outdoors, the couple worked with the wedding planner to prepare fans, portable cooling machines, cold drinks, and even towels. Of course, all these elements were made to match the gold and navy tropical wedding theme! As a final tip to all brides and grooms out there, Iris and Tim say that if you want to be able to spend enough time with all your guests at a destination wedding, keep the guest count at a manageable number. They had only 80 guests and this made their celebration extra fun and engaging for everyone. Every part of this wedding was such a joy to experience through the lens of Liam Collard.
