Calling all K-drama lovers! Guess, what! Did you know that there are several spots in Hong Kong that look very much like places from some of the most-loved K-dramas? We listed out a few of them here so that you can recreate your favorite scenes or even just get inspiration from the sights of these local gems. Just going over these locations already brought us back to all the happy and heartwarming moments from these dramas so we’re sure if you decide to shoot here you’ll remember them too.
Check Kang Old Pier
Check Kang Old Pier looks very much like the iconic pier in the K-drama Goblin. On a bright and sunny day, you can just imagine how the water will catch the sun and frame you both is the brightest of blues just like Kim Go-eun and Gong Yoo in this shot!
The other similar locations you can go to are Tai Miu Wan Public Pier and Man Kok Tsui Pier Lantau. Both spots also have the a long pier out front with the calm waters and the mountains looming behind.Artlane
Artlane reminds us so much of Ihwa Mural Village which is where several famous K-dramas were shot, Encounter, She Was Pretty, and Goblin, to name a few. With so many brightly painted walls, you won’t need to do much to bag charming pre-wedding photos at Artlane; just enjoy your time here!
Jordan Valley Park
Jordan Valley Park has a stream that can pass for the same stream in Cheonggyecheon Urban Park. Some scenes from Lovestruck in the City, Do You Like Brahms?, and The Interest of Love were taken at Cheonggyecheon Urban Park, specifically by the stream. So if you want to take outdoor photos ala Ji Chang-wook, with a rocky landing, rushing water, and greens, head on over here. You can also explore the rest of the park for other outdoor garden shots.
Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse
If you love the lighthouse scenes from K-dramas, then you can head on over to the Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse at Shek O. The cute protagonists, Park Hyung-sik and Park Bo-young, from Strong Girl Do Bong-Soon share adorable moments at a similar location in Korea called Daepohang Port Lighthouse. Make your own version of their shots at Cape D’Aguilar Lighthouse.
Kowloon Peak Viewing Point
Finally, we can’t get enough of locations with overlooking views. Hence, it’s not a surprise at all that we earmarked Eungbong Mountain Park where touching and heartfelt scenes from K-dramas like Are You Human?, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo, and King The Land were shot. To mimic these romantic scenes, we have Kowloon Peak Viewing Point, to turn to. Daytime or nighttime, whichever time you choose, you’ll have the best view and backdrop for your photos.
If you want another option, Lantau Link Platform, provides a view that includes a lit bridge alongside the city lights at night. Which of these spots is your favorite? We love them all so we actually can’t pick! Hopefully we got your K-drama hearts all giddy and excited to take photos at one of these spots. Save them on Google Maps now.
