Winters in Lapland, Finland are undoubtedly special. The endless white covers the land and the trees and the skies are milky white. Meanwhile, the nights are full of color with the stars dancing through the darkness. The beauty of the frozen stillness at Lapland is captivating at all times of the day.
Sonya and Gabriel, a Hong Kong couple currently living in New York, planned an elaborate two-day pre-wedding photo session in Lapland with their photographer Maria Hedengren. The detailed planning and the long travel proved to be worth it as their photos turned out to be beautiful beyond words. Their shoot locations included unique places such as an igloo hotel, Golden Crown Levi, the Ice Hotel, and the Ice Chapel at Lapland Snow Village. One of the things that helped Sonya and Gabriel nail this enchanting photoshoot was booking a photographer who knew the area well. She was able to help the couple plan with insight and experience on all the small details to consider. For instance, the days are short and cold in the winters. Therefore, being able to make the most out of the limited daylight is very important.
