As much as we love our bustling metropolis of a city, it takes a bit of effort to find unique and romantic wedding venues in the middle of Hong Kong. So when Jan Leung of Feel in the Blank sent me this set, I knew I had to show you guys. Joyce and Eric chose the glamorous AMMO restaurant as the backdrop of their cozy wedding. The large floor-to-ceiling windows and extravagant gold accent wall made for some dramatic photos. But what I love most about this wedding is that the couple went with very classic and clean details which complemented the environment very well. Check out the entire set here, and have a wonderful Wednesday!
This sweet and classy engagement shoot by Hilary of Hilary Chan Photography just what we need to match the gorgeous spring weather we’ve been having lately. The bride-to-be Kathy’s furry cobalt blue sweater and ballerina skirt ensemble paired with iconic Manolos is easy chic perfection. Throw in a lovely bouquet by Atelier Florist, and it becomes a recipe that gets us weak in the knee. Let’s soak in the prettiness and beat the Monday blues!
I can’t think of a better way to start this blog than with a classic Hong Kong wedding done oh-so-right. Janice and Calvin’s big day oozed with sophistication from every angle — from the bride’s modern Chinese dress and hand-tied bouquets by J.F. Floral Couture to their perfect venue choices. St. John’s Cathedral is simply breathtaking! You can sense that every single detail was handpicked and well-thought out by this good-looking pair, resulting in a cohesive and personal wedding style. Soak in all the pretty captured by the talented Kong Wai of History Studio, and have a fabulous Friday!
The day has finally come. Bride and Breakfast HK is here! Witnessing how B&B has become an integral voice in the Philippine wedding industry in the past five years, I can’t help but feel excited for what we can bring to Hong Kong. There is an amazing pool of creative talent in this city, both couples and vendors alike, and we can’t wait to showcase them all here and provide inspiration to all of you soon-to-be brides.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Merryl. I quit the corporate world a year ago to pursue the creative life. I’m married to a wonderful man named Jon who is the most passionate photographer I know, and we have a sweet little yorkie named Henri. I’m a fan of all things lovely and uniquely beautiful. And just like you, I can never get enough of weddings.
I got married almost exactly a year and a half ago, and as I look back at our wedding day, I still get butterflies in my stomach. I completely understand why people say it’s the best day of your life. There’s just something so incredibly special about family and friends coming together in a beautiful place, wearing their best clothes, and celebrating with a lavish meal to support your lifelong commitment to the person you love most.
But a perfect day doesn’t come easy. The process of planning every single wedding detail can be so overwhelming that you lose sight of what the celebration is really about. I must admit that my motivation in putting so much work into making our wedding picture perfect was, at least in part, to meet social expectations. It was only after that I realized that, social pressures aside, the beautiful things that make up a wedding should be appreciated because they are in fact tangible expressions of the infinite beauty of marriage. Weddings should be made beautiful, because there are few things in life that are more beautiful than marriage.
And that is my hope for Bride and Breakfast HK — that as we bring you the best wedding inspiration to make your wedding planning a breeze, you will be at the same time reminded to celebrate that which matters most.
I’m over-the-moon excited to begin this journey with you!
