5 Ways to Encourage Social Distancing at Your Wedding

The COVID-19 pandemic has really changed the wedding industry. If you have decided to still push through with their wedding, you now need to consider a lot of details, including your guests’ safety. (1) Plan unique seating arrangements.

Normally, couples nowadays space out the seating arrangement to make sure everyone is within safe distance from each other. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t be creative with your floor plan or layout. Don’t let the need for social distance keep you from thinking of creative ways to get people to maintain distance. (2) Incorporate reminders in your venue.

It’s only natural for people to forget about keeping distance, especially at celebrations where family and friends see each other for the first time in a long time. You can help remind everyone of the safety protocol by adding signs about maintaining a safe distance. Scatter these signs all over your venue to make sure people don’t forget.

(3) Include hand sanitizers all around your venue or give guests hand sanitizers.

To encourage everyone to sanitize their hands regularly throughout the event, make hand sanitizers readily available. You have two options. One is to spread out sanitizers all over your venue. The other option is to give your guests their own mini sanitizers.

(4) Go for a plated menu.

Avoid crowded buffet lines and opt for a plated menu so you can prevent guests from moving around and coming into close contact with other people.

(5) Let the alcohol come to guests, not the other way around.

Instead of having a bar that guests can approach for their alcohol, get your caterer to assist in serving and refilling alcohol. Again, this will prevent people from getting too close to each other.
